Stock Market Engine Rooms

Companies that compete for funds in order to generate profits, drive the stock market system. Government securities cannot match the value appreciation potential of private ventures which are managed professionally, though their risks of backing a government may be low.

Choosing stock market companies for a private portfolio is a challenge because there are contradictory factors to consider, and large, professionally funds with which the small investor to contend. Numbers are rarely relevant for long-term and rational decisions; historic data may not be relevant at all. Individual stock market investors generally miss out on the insights that fund managers glean during direct, intense, and regular interaction with management teams.

Fortunately, the stock market offers a wide choice of profit-making organizations which one can choose to own in part. Some stand head and shoulders over their peers, and it is prestigious after from profitable to hold their scrip. Others are ripe for merger and acquisition moves, and thereby offer great hopes of near-term appreciation. However, nothing can match the excitement of being a part of a young venture in whose future we believe with passion! Unfortunately, there is a proverbial fly in the stock market salve: some companies approach declines in life-cycles without any overt or convincing attempt to crest new waves. Determining the optimal time to ‘jump ship’ leaves us in quandaries, and sometimes full of recrimination as well!

We have chosen a slew of companies in this section of our website, for which some future projections-some bright, and others less so-are rather evident. Most of them are amongst the best known and largest corporations in the world, though investment principles do apply to small and medium enterprises in equal measure. We would love to hear of your impressions of these companies, and other benchmarks which you may find more telling. Your views matter to us, and we would love to have your participation at this website.

The population of commercial entities is fortunately large and growing as well. Do write and let us know if you would like a strategic appraisal of a company in which you have a special interest, which is not listed here.
